Maj J. V. W. Vandenburgh
Local Superintendent

Sir,

I am desirous of having my wife Lucy Carter and her six children aged from nine years down to one year, come to Washington where I can make a good living for them, - they are at Thomasville Georgia, and I respectfully ask [[strikethrough]] and [[strikethrough]] transportation to get them and a set of Carpenter tools brought on

I have purchased a place near the Howard University grounds where I propose as soon as I can to make arrangements for the comfortable support of my family, and ask this and now to enable me to get through with my undertaking.

Capt White was at Thomasville Geo
